Nephew of Prof Paolo Rovesti, Giorgio Dell’Acqua
obtained a degree in Biological Science from the University «La
Sapienza» of Rome in 1989. Subsequently, he started his research
activity at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Rome, in
the Department of Histology and Embriology directed by Prof. Gennaro
Goglia.
Between 1990 and 1999, Dr Dell’Acqua has been
an investigator in the USA, in prestigious academic institutions
like Mount Sinai University in New York and Harvard University in
Boston, working on the discovery of new drugs for the treatment
of tumors and cardiovascular disease.
After his collaborations with Dr Luigi Rigano,
internationally recognized cosmetic scientist, to identify new cosmetic
properties of raw materials originated from natural substances,
he was between 2000 and 2003, Research and Development Director
and Production Director of Laboratoires Biologiques Arval SA in
Switzerland, where he investigated new formulations and active ingredients
in skin care.
Author of more than 25 publications in medicine
and cosmetic science, member of the Scientific Committee of the
Italian Society of Cosmetic Chemists and of the Swiss Society of
Cosmetics, international lecturer, he is the Scientific Director
of the Paolo Rovesti Institute since 2004.
